Karen Brown

2024 Nashville Chapter Chair


Karen Brown is the 2024 Chapter Chair for Nashville WiNUP. She has served as Chapter Secretary, Vice-Chair, Chapter Chair, and International Board Representative for the Nashville Chapter. She has also served on the International Professional Development Committee. Her current WiNUP committees include Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee and the 2024 Conference Banquet Committee. 

She has been a member of WiNUP since 2013. Karen works at Cookeville Electric Department in Energy Services. She has been with Cookeville Electric for 22 years. She works with TVA to offer energy efficient and demand reduction programs. She also maintains a working relationship with Cookeville’s Key Account Customers.   

Karen has a B.S. in Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University. She lives in Baxter where she grew up. She has been married for 27 years to her high school sweetheart that currently serves in the Army National Guard. She has 2 kids that are 19 and 27. She loves to read, travel to new places, spend time with her family, and serve her community.  

Lori Brown

2024 Nashville Chapter Vice Chair


Lori Brown joined WiNUP in 2022. She has been the Secretary and now serves as the Vice Chair for the Nashville Chapter. This year, Lori is also serving on the International Scholarship Committee.

 Lori currently serves as the program manager of the School Uplift Program for EnergyRight® for the Tennessee Valley Authority. TVA EnergyRight® 's School Uplift supports public schools in the region by offering energy efficiency training and grants that reduce energy costs and improve the quality of the learning environment.

 Prior to joining the Tennessee Valley Authority, Lori served for 27 years as an educator and leader for the Maury County Public Schools, holding positions as a teacher, librarian, school coordinator, assistant principal, and director of College, Career, and Technical Education.

 Lori earned her doctorate in Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University, go “Bucs!” In their free time, Lori and her husband Chuck enjoy spending time with their “grands,” Campbell, Bennett, and Hudson. They especially love being at the beach with their family.

 “WiNUP offers a tremendous network of utility specialists within their membership. The Women's International Network of Utility Professionals is an organization that provides support, advocates, and advances women in all aspects of life, not just the work environment. A part of their mission is to foster and grow strong females, especially through the STEM arena. We continually recruit members for our Nashville Chapter. We welcome those in the utility business who want to be a part of an encouraging and supportive group.”

 

Kaitlyn Bonds

2024 Nashville Chapter Secretary

Kaitlyn Bonds is the 2024 Secretary for Nashville WiNUP. She joined WiNUP in 2023 and was excited to jump in, get involved, and serve on the Nashville Chapter Executive Committee.

She has been the Creative Director at Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (CEMC)/Cumberland Connect since August 2019 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Austin Peay State University. Kaitlyn’s role as Creative Director includes overseeing broadband marketing, subscriber communications, brand and reputation management, and community engagement. With a passion for creativity and customer experience, in her current role, she most enjoys finding creative solutions dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience that leaves a lasting impact on subscribers.

Kaitlyn lives in Clarksville, TN, with her husband, Ben. They have been married for eleven years and have a son, Fox, who is nine. When not working, she most enjoys traveling with her family, watching movies, reading, and all things Harry Potter and Marvel.

Julie Gordon

2024 Nashville Chapter Treasurer


Julie Gordon is the 2024 Treasurer for the Nashville Chapter, she previously served as the International New Member Development Committee Chair in 2019-2020 and has been with WiNUP for 8 years.

Julie has been with Tennessee Valley Authority for 16 years as an Executive Assistant serving Energy Services & Programs. She holds an associate degree in business administration from Cleveland State Community College, Cleveland, TN, and a Contractors Certification from Albany State College, GA. She was previously a certified woman-owned business for the state of GA in Steel & Concrete before moving back to Tennessee in 1999.

 

She lives in Nashville with her husband Markley and has one son Michael, his bride Brittany and three grandchildren Jamie, Jordan, and Anna Maire. In her spare time, she loves spending time with family, sailing, hiking, reading, gardening, and cooking,.

 

Megan Keen

2023 Nashville Chapter International Board Representative

Megan Keen cultivates powerful partnerships, employs strategic thinking, utilizes technical knowledge, and demonstrates continuous improvement in her work and community roles. As a customer service leader with the Tennessee Valley Authority, Keen supports local power companies and industries by deploying EnergyRight® programs in the Middle TN area to transform lives and communities with innovative energy solutions. 

Keen earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Master of Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University, and a Master of Engineering from Vanderbilt University. 

Keen is involved in the community on the boards of RUTHERFORD Cable, Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals, and Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Center Rutherford County. She is an active alumna of Leadership Rutherford and Leadership Middle Tennessee.
