Communications

Claudia Airey is the Metro Chicago Communications Chair. She is responsible for managing the Metro Chicago social media pages, producing the chapter newsletter and other regular publications. Additionally, Claudia is also responsible for maintaining and growing the chapter's social media presence and for maintaining the chapter website.


WiNUP aside, Claudia is a life-long Hoosier and Indiana University alumna with a degree in Communications, specializing in Public Relations. She began her career in the energy sector at NIPSCO in May of 2017, starting as an Internal Communications intern and in 2019 transitioning to a full-time employee. In 2020, she transferred to NiSource and has worked her way up to her current role as Senior Communications Specialist.


Claudia’s current position involves her showcasing NiSource’s commitment to prioritizing the social and economic prosperity of customers, employees and communities we serve on the company’s growing social media platforms and internal network. She also provides communications support for the DE&I and Supply Chain teams, as well as the NiSource Charitable Foundation.

Membership Administration and Outreach

This committee is essentially divided into two primary roles, administration and outreach. Membership Administration is responsible for maintaining the membership roster, including tracking attendance at chapter activities. Membership Administration will also work closely with Membership Outreach to identify ways to strategically grow membership and engage our members.

STEM

STEM and Community Outreach

This committee encourages the involvement in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education for the next generation as well as identifying ways for our chapter to get involved with the needs of our community.

Women's International Network of Utility Professionals is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (6) organization under the IRA Code.  Section 501 (c) (6) of the IRS code provides for the exemption of business leagues - which is an association of individuals with a common business interest.  Contributions to WiNUP are not tax deductible as a charitable donation.  Contributions may qualify as a business expense.  Donors should consult a tax professional.
