2025 Pittsburgh Chapter Co-Chair and Co-International Board Representative


Emily Farah is an experienced utility regulatory lawyer. In her current capacity as Assistant General Counsel for Nisource, she provides strategic legal counsel on pipeline safety regulations across all six of Nisources' operating companies and also advises Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania of Maryland on complex regulatory matters.

Emily is passionate about community engagement, and proudly serves on the board of the United Way of Washington County. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and currently lives in the Mt. Washington neighborhood in Pittsburgh.

Carla is a Pittsburgh native with an extensive professional background in communications, marketing and sales, public affairs, community relations, and project and event management. She is serving as a Project Manager supporting local electric utility, Duquesne Light Company, collaborating with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to ensure alignment for the Large Capital Projects Department. Prior to Duquesne Light Company, she has held impactful roles working with the Pittsburgh Steelers in addition to a local natural gas distribution utility, Columbia Gas in the Public Affairs Department for several years. She received a bachelor's degree from California University of Pennsylvania in Liberal Arts and earned her master's degree at Waynesburg University in Business Administration.
