Ohio Chapter Committees

 


Annual Banquet

This committee is responsible for planning the end of the year recognition and celebration. They create the agenda, reserve the location, entertainment and decorations. This Committee also creates a presentation highlighting the past years events, achievements, community outreach, and award recipients.

Membership

Responsible for activities to maintain membership roster, including tracking member activities and event attendance throughout the year. This committee is also responsible for creating a strategy to attract and recruit new members and retain existing members.

Mentoring

The WiNUP Mentoring Committee is responsible for leading and planning the annual mentoring program. This committee assists mentees in their career development by pairing them with a mentor. It provides the opportunity for networking, practice, and hands on experience.

Social Media

The Social Media committee is responsible for updating the Ohio website with important and accurate information, producing the newsletter, updating social media sites, and communicating chapter events. This committee will also strategize to get as much interest in WiNUP events as possible through these channels.

STEM

This committee encourages STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education within the Ohio Chapter and local communities through events & volunteer opportunities. Their goal is to expand the horizons of the next generation of females through the introduction of STEM concepts.

Scholarship / Awards

This committee is focused on promoting scholarships, awards for the chapter and its members.

Community Service

This committee connects with local community organizations to learn about what they do and what their current needs are and to create events based on those needs. These events include, but are not limited to volunteer event at the local food bank, clothing drives, and work with various school groups.

Programming

This committee will assist in create the calendar of events for the year ensuring that each of the International objectives is met: Professional Growth, Personal Growth, Industry Related, and Women’s Issues. The committee will contact speakers and work closely with WiNUP Chair/Vice-Chair to organize fun and successful events.

Women's International Network of Utility Professionals is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (6) organization under the IRA Code.  Section 501 (c) (6) of the IRS code provides for the exemption of business leagues - which is an association of individuals with a common business interest.  Contributions to WiNUP are not tax deductible as a charitable donation.  Contributions may qualify as a business expense.  Donors should consult a tax professional.
