Our Members Speak...

WiNUP provides opportunities for professional development of members, networking and mentoring among members, and recognitions and visibility for members and business partners. Here our members speak detailing what brought them to WiNUP and why they feel WiNUP is a valuable tool.

“A great benefit of WiNUP is that you gain a different perspective about issues from people who are outside your own company and your usual network of associates. You meet and learn from people with all ranges of experience and job titles – from the 30-year veteran executive to the recent college grad. WiNUP encourages and promotes relationship building with those you meet. The friend you make today may be the one who can help you solve a job-related problem tomorrow.” Vikki Michalski, 2011 WiNUP International President and communications professional for AEP Ohio

"At the first WiNUP (then called Electrical Women's Round Table Inc.) meeting I attended over 20 years ago, I immediately felt comfortable. It was a welcoming, nurturing environment where I was able to hone my leadership and organizational skills and gain greater confidence. There are so many opportunities to "make your mark" in WiNUP, which in turn benefits other members and the organization as a whole, and helps you grow personally and professionally. The camaraderie among members is strong — the relationships built through WiNUP, with accomplished women from throughout the country, are a highlight of being a member. I only regret that I didn't know about WiNUP when I started working in the utility industry in the 1980s, because I could have benefitted greatly from the wonderful mentors within the organization." Emily Schilling - Editor, Electric Consumer | Indiana Electric Cooperatives WiNUP 1999 International President

"If I had to come up with one word that I associate with WiNUP, it would be SUPPORT. WiNUP provides access to a network of professional women that champion each other’s successes. Knowing that no matter what challenges I face, I need only to reach out to this exceptional group of leaders, mentors, and friends to gain expertise, insight, guidance and encouragement provides a degree of confidence and comfort that is invaluable." Danette Scudder - Tennessee Valley Public Power Association WiNUP 2015 International President
