2024 Atlanta Chapter Chair and International Board Representative


Cindy Owen has over 30 years of experience and is currently Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG Power). Cindy provides a broad range of functionally unique administrative and technical duties in principal support of the Senior Vice President / Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President of Transmission, and support of Directors within the Transmission and Power Supply Departments.

Since joining WiNUP at the end of 2019, Cindy has enjoyed serving as a Chapter officer, International Board Representative, committee member and then Chair for the Professional Development Committee, committee member and then Chair for the Mentoring Committee, and as a committee member for the Conference Planning Committee, Member Publications Committee, and Chapter Achievement Award Committee.

She is passionate about the professional growth and development of others as well as herself. She is a Working Genius Certified Facilitator and has been accepted as an Associate in the Chief of Staff Association. Cindy has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from the University of West Georgia.

Cindy and her husband live in Douglasville, Georgia and enjoy traveling and spending time with their daughters and sons-in-law.

Wendy Hallums

2024 Atlanta Chapter Vice Chair



Wendy Hallums is a Principal Auditor with over 8 years of experience in internal and financial audit for public and private companies across diverse industries, including Financial Services, Banking, Retail, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Technology, Utility Insurance, and Healthcare, expertise in Internal Audit, SOX Readiness Testing, IT Controls, Change Management, Regulatory Agreement Audits, Commercial Real Estate, and Tax Credit Fair Value Evaluation.

Wendy has experience in various internal audit engagements which include SOX and IT audits as well as operational audits. She has planned and performed risk assessments and annual audit plans for various clients. She has identified changes in controls prior to developing testing procedures and performed control design documentation, testing and reporting. Wendy has communicated issues with controls tested to management prior to reporting to the executives and the audit committee. She led audit committee meetings and provided details about findings and/or observations as well as remediation plan status and an overall audit plan status.

Wendy is a proud mother of a son named Aiden. Her aspiration/dream/existence goal is to eradicate child hunger worldwide, ensuring that no child goes without a meal any day.

Malaika Njinjoh, CISA, CC, CDPSE, CFE

2024 Atlanta Chapter Treasurer



Malaika Njinjoh is a Principal, Cybersecurity & Regulatory Compliance Auditor at Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) with over 10 years of experience providing IT Audit, Cybersecurity, Regulatory Compliance and Risk Assurance services to a variety of entities including Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries (Power & Utility, Healthcare, Consumer Products, Entertainment, Insurance, etc.). Prior to GSOC, Malaika worked in public accounting for some of the largest professional services firms in the world, including PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Ernst & Young (EY), serving in both external and internal audit functions.

Malaika is passionate about mentoring, coaching, and empowering people to walk in their purpose, and maximize their full potential, so they do not only live the length of their lives but the depth of it.

Angelique Mitchell has a decade of experience in the electric utility field and is currently a Senior Engineering Systems Analyst at the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG Power). She is responsible for maintaining the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) database, configuring communication hardware, and commissioning new power projects.

Angelique has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology.

She lives in Atlanta with her husband and their rambunctious toddler. She loves writing, photography, video-gaming, and binge-watching TV shows.
