About Texhoma

Our History

The Texhoma chapter was founded in 2017 with just six initiating members in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Texhoma got its name as some of its founding members were based in both Oklahoma and North Texas.  The state border and adjacent lake are adeptly named Texhoma and seemed appropriate for our chapter.  Each year, our chapter has grown and we always enjoy spreading around what WiNUP has done for its members, both personally and professionally.

Each year our chapter holds various fundraising events and donate the proceeds to local STEM organizations.  One of the goals for our chapter is to bring awareness around STEM and encourage children to pursue a career in the utility industry.  We have donated to school robotics clubs, STEM nights at elementary schools and other various causes.

In recent years, our chapter has won The Chapter Achievement Award, a member was elected as an International Officer and another member recently received the 2020 Power Award.  Our chapter is doing great things!

2024 Goals

  • Continue to recruit new members outside of AEP to extend our membership base as well as retain current members by promoting valuable and insight benefits of being a member.
  • Provide value to retain membership.
  • Continue to focus on professional development.
  • Another year of successful fundraising to broaden our donation footprint.
  • Continue to bring awareness to the STEM programs and charity work in our local communities.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
