About West Virginia
Our History
Soon after Donna Campbell attended her first Electrical Women's Round Table (EWRT) conference in Columbus, Ohio, in October 1997, she set out to establish a chapter in West Virginia. The West Virginia Chapter became a reality in 1998 with six founding members. The chapter formally received its charter December 14, 1998 from then national President Donna Kowalenko and 1993-94 national President Lynn Thieneman. The two traveled to Charleston to welcome the new chapter and install the chapter's first officers: Donna Campbell, chair; Patricia Bostic, vice chair; and Phyllis Halt, secretary/treasurer. Donna Watson was selected to serve as the chapter's first International Board Representative. Unfortunately, Patricia was unable to serve, and Paula McCallister assumed the vice chair role in January 5, 1999. The West Virginia was the last chapter chartered under the EWRT name.
The West Virginia Chapter hosted its first conference, "Gold Fever," in October 2002 at the Charleston House, and hosted its second in 2015, "WiNUP in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia" also held in Charleston.
