About SW Virginia/NE Tennessee

Our History

The Southwest Virginia/Northeast Tennessee Chapter received its charter in 2013, signed by International President Donna Campbell. The chapter began with six charter members. The new chapter's officers included Carol Vicars, Chair; Karen Gilmer, Vice Chair and International Board Representative; Mary Begley, Secretary, and Tracy Hertig, Treasurer.

Once chartered, the chapter immediately began efforts to increase its membership, reaching out to area utilities and allied fields with invitations to the chapter's quarterly meetings. The chapter is currently co-leading the effort to host the 2021 International Conference being held in Charleston, South Carolina.

Goals

  • Continue to recruit potential members to expand our network, while retaining our existing membership.

“I never dreamed about success. I worked for it.”
