Susan Roberts

2022 SW Virginia/NE Tennessee Chapter Chair and International Board Representative


Susan started her work career as Head Accounting Clerk for the Texas Secretary of State in Austin, Texas, from 1985 to 1992; followed by her role as a receptionist for the Northwestern Landscape Company in Puyallup, Washington from 1992 to 1994; and finished her career as an administrative assistant with the Tennessee Valley Authority. Susan retired on November 2, 2020 after 25 years of service.


She has served as Secretary, Treasurer, and President for the local chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.


Susan joined WINUP in 2010 and served as Treasurer of the East Tennessee Chapter for three years and served as the Vice Chair of the SW Virginia/NE Tennessee Chapter in 2020. She is the Registration committee chair for the 2021 International Conference.


She has been married to Tim Roberts since 1977. They have a son and a daughter and four grandchildren. They live in a farmhouse built in 1920 and currently grow various fruits and herbs.


Susan has been designing and making jewelry since 2009 and is enjoying spending more time at this pastime in retirement. In July 2020, she was accepted as a Daughter of the American Revolution and is looking forward to participating in community activities with her local chapter.


Emily Ball

2022 SW Virginia/NE Tennessee Chapter Secretary


Emily Ball has been with AEP as a Customer Service Engineer since 2016. In her role, she serves as the single point of contact for Industrial and Large Commercial customers in the Kingsport, TN area. She also represents AEP in Economic Development and community involvement activities in the region.


Emily graduated from Clemson University in 2009 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Prior to AEP, she worked for Eastman Chemical Company. She is a Certified Energy Manager and Licensed Professional Engineer. Emily was excited to join WINUP shortly after she began her career with AEP. She is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Kingsport.


In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben, and daughter, Taylor.

Tracy Hertig

2022 SW Virginia/NE Tennessee Chapter Treasurer


Tracy Hertig has worked for AEP as a Customer Service Engineer since 1994. She serves as the primary point of contact for large industrial and commercial customers in Tazewell, Giles and Buchanan Counties in Virginia and Mercer, McDowell and Summers Counties in West Virginia. She assists with economic development and community relations as needed.


Tracy graduated from West Virginia University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and in 1998 with an MBA from Averett University. She is a Certified Energy Manager. She helped establish the SW Virginia/NE Tennessee Chapter.


Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and watching her children, Hunter, Zach and Emma play sports.
