Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People by Mahzarin Banaji and Anthony Greenwald. ‘“Blindspot” is a metaphor to capture that portion of the mind that houses hidden biases. The authors use it to ask about the extent to which social groups – without our awareness or conscious control – shape our likes and dislikes, our judgments about people’s character, abilities, and potential.” (http://blindspot.fas.harvard.edu/Book).

The $5 (WiNUP member) or $10 (non-WiNUP member) participant donations from the July meeting will benefit the Evoluer House, a non-profit organization that delivers evidence-based empowerment programs that help girls to envision a future devoid of disadvantages and filled with possibilities. This event is jointly hosted with a PJM employee resource group called the Professional Networking Group.
