Join us Monday July 21 from 10am-2pm CST for an exciting Summer STEM-a-thon at Urschel Pavilion in Valparaiso – a fun-filled event hosted by the Greater Northwest Indiana Boys & Girls Club designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds though hands on STEM activities. Kids will rotate through ~10-12 activity stations where they’ll build, experiment, and explore challenges such as snap circuits, dash robots, balance blocks and more!

We are looking for 10 volunteers to lead station activities. 2-3 volunteers will be posted at each station to guide the kids and keep the fun (and learning) going!

**No STEM background required – just a love of learning & willingness to inspire.

**All materials provided – representatives from the Boys & Girls Club will provide written instructions and a demonstration of the activity.

**Lunch provided.

A WiNUP/Duneland YMCA kick off collaboration EXPO intended to reach young girls in the community. STEAM like a GIRL has it all for young girls looking to learn about anything STEAM related. At the expo, there will be different zones/stations all pertaining to STEAM that the attendees will be able to take advantage of and learn from. ?The goal of this event is to kick off a consistent STEAM program for the young girls of the community.

Learn how to build and compete at the robotics zone. Make a bath bomb at the chemistry zone. Learn the importance of movement at the movement zone. Learn how to replenish electrolytes at the electrolyte zone. Understand the power of the human brain at the optical illusion zone. Talk to a real-life storm chaser at the weather zone.

We are looking for 15 volunteers to help with registration and lead groups through the zones!

• No STEAM background required - all welcomed!
• WiNUP members who are NiSource employees, please also register through the YourCause registration link.
• Volunteers needed from 9:00am - 12:00pm (event is from 9:30am - 11:30am)
• The YMCA requires all volunteers to participate in a virtual child protection training session. All volunteers will receive an email with more details.
• T-Shirts provided to volunteers
• Water and popcorn provided

If interested, please register as a volunteer no later than Wednesday, July 9th.
